No it does not. Thermography and mammography are two completely different screening procedures. Mammography uses ionizing radiation (known cancer causing agent) to detect structural changes-lump(s) in your breasts. Both breasts have to be compressed, which is not only painful but also can cause potential spreading of cancer cells if present due to very tight compression. Since mammography is looking for abnormal lumps, these structures have to grow to a certain size to be detectable by a mammogram (which may take years). Thermography uses NO radiation, there is no painful compression involved, as it simply takes a picture of your breasts with a sophisticated infrared digital camera. Thermography looks for physiological changes (not structural changes) in your breasts, in other words, it evaluates how your breast tissue functions. It looks for heat/thermal abnormalities, vascular abnormalities, thermal asymmetries and lymphatic congestion..

No, you do not. The majority of our clients are self referred. We do have, however, many physicians (MD, DO, DC) who refer their patients to us, as they value and understand the benefits of thermography imaging.

No, thermography does not diagnose cancer. Remember, thermography nor mammography can diagnose cancer. The only screening tool that provides diagnoses is a needle biopsy. Thermogaphy uses an infrared technology that can shows a problem on a cellular level.
Thermography has the ability to detect thermal/heat abnormalities, thermal asymmetries, vascularity and lymphatic congestion; therefore identify a wide range of conditions. Thermography can warn you years in advance of a possible problem, you can then take the necessary steps to take care of your health.

• Before you come in, you’ll be asked to follow exam protocol to ensure the accuracy of the scan (the instructions will be emailed to you prior your appointment. For example: avoiding sauna, avoiding exercise, etc. anything that may increase your body temperature)
• When you come in for your scan, we’ll briefly discuss your medical history and your health status for us to better understand where you are on your wellness journey
• The technician will fully explain and demonstrate the procedure and will answer any questions you may have
• You will then acclimate for at least 10-15 minutes (cool down without clothing) to assure the accuracy of your scan (for breast imaging, upper body will be disrobed only. For a full body imaging, disrobed fully)
• The actual scan takes about 5-25 minutes depending on the type of scan you have done (breast vs full body)
• Your images, including your health questionnaire will then be sent off to the physicians who will evaluate your images and write a results report. We have 3 level review, meaning 3 different Doctors review the report, for highest quality.
• You will receive your results report and your images within 1-2 weeks after your imaging appointment, expedited 48 hours turn around avail per request.
